Disneyland 08

~Well, we got back from Disneyland last night. I believe fun was had by all. The trip was not without incident starting with Wednesday morning. Our target departure time was 12 midnight. that would put us at Disneyland by no later than noon on Wednesday. Which would give us plenty of time to play. We left about 30 minutes behind schedule and all was going well. 60 miles into the trip the check engine light came on in Brown Suga. So we stopped and checked things out. All seemed to be okay so we started back down the road. After another 5 minutes I decided to flip the car around and go get the Envoy. So by the time we got turned around, got back home and switched cars it was 3:00am. So back down the road we go. At this point we really weren't feeling the Disney Magic.

~We drove to Mesquite where we met up with Dad and LB. We had breakfast and got back on the road. I must say my navigator did a fantastic job this year. We arrived at our hotel at about 4:00pm Wednesday. We checked in and made our way to the park.

~Disneyland was a short 5 minute walk from the hotel which was very nice. No parking fees this year. We picked up our tickets and went to California Adventure. We rode Soaring Over California first which was amazing. The wait was very short so we took advantage. It was cool. JD cried the entire time but after that he wanted to ride it again. We did a few more rides and decided we should all it a night.

~Thursday morning we decided to do the early entry deal. It was great. It was us and about 3000 of our closest friends. We walked on Buzz Lightyear, Star Tours, Space Mountain and pulled fast passes for Autopia and a few others. We rode Pirates, Indiana Jones and I can't remember what else. Then made our way Back to California Adventure. We rode Grizzly River (which JD didn't want to do until it was over). Then a few others. Dad and I rode California Screaming and had a drink.

~On Friday it was back to California Adventure. LB was talked into riding Screaming. The picture of her on the ride was great. It looked like she was sleeping. Dancer Girl loves that ride and Nanners, well she was screaming. Dad had a grin from ear to ear. LB got off the ride and had to sit down. She eventually got sick all over the walk way. Poor thing. LB went back to the hotel and Jenn and I and the kids played. We did the Bugs Life stuff which was really cool and they played in the water, rode bumper cars and a few others.

~On Saturday we went to Disneyland and rode and rode and rode. Haunted Mansion, Splash Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Buzz, did Toon Town and all that stuff. It was a great day. Saturday night we went up to Burbank to have dinner with Chris and Teresa and the kids. Nanners and JD were in heaven because they had people to play with. It was good to see them.

~The trip home Sunday was good but 12 hours in a car is a lot to ask of anybody. The kids were restless and their Dad was a bear to live with. We got home unpacked and now are ready to start planning the next vacation. We are thinking Sea World next time and will be flying.
All in all it was a good trip and well worth the money. A couple of special thank yous to Michael and Rhonda for helping with the planning and education on FastPass. To Dad and LB for coming along and helping with the kids. To Chris and Teresa for having us over and last but not least to Jenn and the kids for putting up with the cranky father. Love to everybody.

P.S. I am sure Jenn will post some pictures later.

A New Song

Montana wrote this song while we were at church. It brought a tear to my eye.

Jesus Loves Me

1. I like Jesus. He loves me. He loves us all. I like Jesus . He loves me.

2. Jesus Loves us like children. He gave us a gift. Not like a boat, Not like a doll. The gift is Love.

3. I like Jesus. He loves me. He gave me parents that love me.

4. It's time for prayer. I like Jesus.

5. He loves meeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

How sweet is that??

Justice started Karate/Tae Kwon Do today. He absolutely loved it. It is a very strict school which I love. We are hoping he will learn respect, discipline, confidence, and hopefully it will help him get rid of some aggression in a good way. I was very impressed with his first day. Way to go bud!

Indian Beading

Eric started to teach Justice how to use a bead loom. Eric is great at it and has made several beautiful pieces: belts, earrings, appliques for indian style shirts, barrettes, bracelets, moccasins, etc. Well Justice was dying to learn how- he was VERY persistent. He wants to make a bracelet for himself. They will put it on some leather and it will look awesome. Here are some darling pics of them working together- I couldn't resist taking a pic.

Pic of my Brown Suga!!

It snowed so I couldn't take a great pic of my car- but here is a stock photo in the right color!!

Wahoo!!

The van was on it's last leg with 170,000 miles and the engine was about to take a dump. It's been a great family car for 5 years, and it was paid for- so I was torn about what to do. Put more money into- or get something new. Eric suggested a car dealer to look at, so with that little seed of encouragement, I went to scout around for another car. I tried to downsize into a smaller, better on gas, kinda car. But I knew the kids would go crazy (and that would lead to me going crazy) sitting all squished in the back. I drove a few sporty types, but I wasn't feelin it. Then, "dun, dun, dun"- my Durango- emerged from the pack!! Our eyes met, and it was love at first site. A brown sugar colored, 4WD, big wheeled beauty. It has three rows of leather seats, a V8 Magnum engine, with all the extras I love. I drove it- I loved it- I bought it!! I called Eric while I was signing the papers to break the news and get his approval- he said " If you can afford it- go for it." It's the first car I have ever bought all on my own. It's a weird feeling- like growing up I guess. The kids love it, and we can't wait to break it in good on our road trip to Disneyland in a couple weeks. So when you hear a powerful engine and a gal screamin "Wahoo" driving by- it's just me enjoying my new ride!!
