Today our first black president was sworn in. Barack Hussein Obama. This is a very historic day in American history. My children are learning a lot regarding race, justice, and equality in school. They don't understand slavery. They don't even really know what it is. They don't know anything about segregation. When I explain these things to them, it is as foreign as speaking French. I'm so glad we live in a country where these things are a thing of the past. I am hopeful that President Obama can turn things around for our country. There is always improvement that can be made.
