Should I trust my doctor?

Why do I have no confidence in my doctor? Sierra's lump has gone away and she is doing fine. The last two times we have seen him- I had such a bad feeling about his diagnosis- as in I thought he was an idiot! But both times he was totally right. Should I trust my gut or trust my doctor??? I am just glad she is doing better!
